What's going to be the next diet that you go on?
It is important to contemplate if a diet is really the right way for you to lose weight. Whichever diet you choose, it is important to know that diets are simply a way of meddling with the symptoms.
You can lose weight if you go on a diet but most of the actual causes for being overweight would not have been appropriately tackled. It is therefore probable that the lost weight will be regained once the diet is over.
Is it not more sensible to tackle the root of the problem? Do you want to spend the rest of your life going from one diet to the next?
If you really want to tackle the causes of your being overweight you will find that it is mostly insufficient to simply transform your eating habits.
Most of the causes are not only found in wrong eating and cooking habits. In many cases, certain behaviour patterns have developed over the years which contribute to being overweight.
Does this sound familiar to you?
- I eat when I feel sad and alone.
- I eat when I am stressed.
- I eat a whole packet of chips even if I am full.
- I cannot walk past a bakery without going in to buy something sweet.
- I usually eat even though I am not actually hungry.
Another cause for being overweight is a lack of exercise. If you do not exercise, you will burn very few calories. For this reason you would have to eat relatively small portions of food if you want to avoid putting on weight.
Changing your daily habits is not easy. If you are successful, then you will be able to break through the endless vicious circle of diets.
We at Novafeel have decided to challenge the problem of transforming bad daily habits into healthy habits and have developed a programme on an email basis which can accompany, support and guide you as you undertake this transformation.
